Stories, Stories and More Stories
We've got new stories for every taste. This week, a couple stories really stood out for me, both contemporary romances. In Taking Her Friend's Advice by Paige Tyler, the heroine falls for a sexy software guy, only to find herself in a rather odd situation: he wants to spank her. In another piece, popular writer Carolyn Faulkner takes us to her heroine's office one morning, where we encounter a rather awkward professional situation! Love Will Find a Way is an absorbing tale exploring the fluid boundaries of office romance, family and of course, bratty behavior. The dialogue is fantastic. The Naked Cherry on Wicked Castle was impossible to ignore, because this ghost story features lesbian themes and esoteric undercurrents that make writer Autumn Brooks a kind of erotic Stephen King. The ending was surprising. The literary award for this week (if we had one) would go to author Jean Gorski for bringing us an erotic sequal to Sir Walter Scott's classic epic, Ivanhoe. Her historical romance, Rebecca Meets Her Match contains both tender longing and strict discipline.

Visit the Ranch
We've updated Spanking Ranch this week Tucker's Frustration by Joannie Kay. Victoria has come to stay on the ranch, and is being far from helpful when it comes to work. After years of battling the urge to take her over his knee, Tucker realizes it is only a matter of time before he gives in to his growing frustration and gives her a spanking to remember for the rest of her life.
"It was only a prank, Tucker," Victoria insisted, "Weren't you ever young?"
"I was young, and taken to the woodshed a few times, Victoria," he told her. "Something you should have experienced a few times."
"You are a bully!" Victoria announced.
"And you are treading on thin ice, Victoria. Unless you want to find out what I mean, you take your sweet butt back to your saloon."

Important Changes
Bethany's Woodshed is changing the way we post stories. Our stories appear in progressive chapters, but at times progress has taken months. No more. We are moving a system of updating running stories with new chapters every week! No more waiting.
Beginning June 2006, three stories will run on a weekly basis. Beginning mid-July, a fourth will be added to that list. Two slots in the weekly schedule will be left open for serialized stories and/or seasonal stories. PLEASE bear with us (bare with us!) as we make this change. Currently there are more than forty stories running - after the transition, there will be only around fifteen - and it will take awhile for this to be accomplished. One consequence of this is for the time being, very few new stories will start. I don't want to completely "dry up" new material, but - after this week, as we start one more new story, until further notice, I will only be starting one new story for every three that finish. This is necessary if we are EVER going to get down to the lower number of "current" stories.
Also - for a while - we will be moving stories from the "serial" group to the "weekly" group, but eventually stories will start as one or the other and not be moved. Again, please be patient while we make the transition.
I will keep posting polls - though maybe not every week - and you'll have plenty of opportunity to tell me how we're doing! ~Bethany
