Background: Our company runs two kinds of spanking erotica sites:
We tend to be more stringent with our flagship site, Bethany's Woodshed, because our members expect a high standard of quality in the spanking stories. We provide our members with work from writers who "understand the fetish." Our stories almost always feature themes of punishment and domestic discipline. This is a membership site, featuring sub female spanking fiction. Most is M/F with strongly romantic themes, but we do occasionally publish F/F material as well (though F/F material is always punishment-related NOT erotic. So, for example, a strict governess story would be acceptable for Bethany's while erotic Lesbian encounters are not). Bethany's Woodshed has the highest percentage of female membership of any major adult internet site.
For Bethany's we buy material outright as "work for hire." Material must be exclusive and never published elsewhere. Rates vary depending on the writing experience of the author, but we never pay less than 2 cents per word. We favor longer multi chapter works with historical, sci-fi, and fantasy settings, though we occasionally buy shorter stories, particularly when they have a theme relevant to a current holiday (i.e., Christmas, Valentine's Day, etc.) We are willing to begin running a longer work prior to completion of the entire novel. The minimum length for a story or a chapter of a story for Bethany's is 4000 words. In a longer work, occasional chapters can fall below this threshold as long as the average length is above 4000 words, but new authors should assume that this minimum length is NOT negotiable. We will buy material either "chapter by chapter," so a writer can get paid for a work in progress OR we will buy a completed work of less than 40,000 words up front.
Although we do not require authors to be a member of Bethany's for us to look at their work, authors do need to be aware that the highly romantic punishment spanking genre we publish on Bethany's is very specialized. We strongly recommend that you be a member for at least once month prior to submitting simply to research our requirements and to avoid duplicating a story theme already published. On Bethany's we do NOT publish material that is just one "get the girl spanked" chapter after another. There must be a story theme and a coherent plot that goes far beyond spanking. Spanking must be a natural part of the male-female dynamic but it is invariably secondary to the main plot of the story, which must exist.
After a work is completed on Bethany's Woodshed, it is removed from our members' area and put on Best of Bethany's for direct-download. Best of Bethany's is a good resource for writers interested in working with us, since there are dozens of free sample chapters on this site. In 2001, it became obvious to us that we had many writers who were interested in writing - and publishing - more spanking and BDSM erotica than we could buy for Bethany's. At that point, we began opening a series of themed spanking story sites, from which stories are published on a "rev-share" basis. To sell these stories, we run two separate stores. longer material. Sub F and Sub M both accepted for this site. We do not
accept any juvenile stories.
The store at Romantic Spankings features ONLY 100% adult spanking material. These sites include:

Minimum length 24,000 words, preferably in chapters no shorter than 3500

We also are willing to do "exclusive" sites for authors who have enough material to warrant this. Three authors who have exclusive sites with us are Spanking Jack , Brats' Corner, and Don Winslow.
We pay rev-share authors monthly. Prices for each work are set in cooperation and consultation with the authors. We deduct 10% from the sale price to cover credit card processing fees, and then split the remainder 50/50. In 2004 our top selling rev-share author made over $7000.00.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Please read free chapters that have been moved off of Bethany's to familiarize yourself with the sites - and the above submission requirements. Or, consider joining Bethany's OR Spanking Romance, though this is not required. We do not accept - for example - short stories for "Spanking Ranch" so you will be wasting my time and yours by submitting one. Pay special attention to the fact that all material for Bethany's must be new and exclusive, whereas for the other sites we will republish work that has been used elsewhere. The only exception is that we will not publish any material originally purchased by CF Publications.
2. Contact us first. Let us know what you have and what site you are interested in submitting for. Please select a SINGLE E-mail address that you will use to correspond with us and stick to it. We prefer that you not correspond with us using "free" accounts, such as yahoo or hotmail. Since we have to know your real name, etc, to publish you, anonymity should not be a concern. We file queries by Email. If you use multiple E-mails to correspond with us, we will not be able to keep track of you.
3. Once we've indicated interest, (I usually respond within 24 hours) send the file to us. I prefer attached .doc, but can accept .txt .rtf or .html. I cannot open and will not look at any Word Perfect (.wpd) files. As a last resort you may paste a sample chapter into E-mail.
4. Please give the file a name shorter than 32 characters that still gives me a "clue" about the file. "susieforschool1.doc" is a good name. "chapter1.doc" is not.
5. Please remember that for our sites for which we are seeking novels and novellas, we are looking for material with strong plots and story lines which ALSO contain spanking as opposed to multi-chapter retellings of one spanking after another.
